Tonle Sap is a huge lake about 15 km (9 miles) south of Siem Reap, which provides more than half of all the fish consumed in Cambodia.
About 60 villages, consisting of Khmer and Vietnamese communities, surround the lake.
Everything in the floating villages is built on stilts 10 meter high over the water: houses, schools, police office, a Catholic Church, markets, a clinic - even a basketball court - and villagers move around by boat only.
A two-hour cruise through the Chong Khneas floating village on a private boat for your group only (up to 15 passengers). Cost per person: US$20.
